The Initial Strategic Religious Support Leadership Course (ISRSLC) educates Chaplains in the rank of lieutenant colonel in the skills and knowledge required for the science of religious support leadership in senior strategic assignments. ISRSLC is 2 weeks in duration, containing 4 modules, a total of 29 lessons, and trains 25 competencies over 79 instructional hours. The course emphasizes effective initial strategic leadership, specific skills and competencies required of senior chaplain leaders in operational assignments serving in operational and garrison environments. The professional military education is structured to design, acquire, build and improve the force with the necessary skill set to lead Unit Ministry Teams in accordance with the Army Operating Concept (AOC 2025).
